End of an Era

25+ years in one location...I've seen a lot of people grow up there, young and old, but now comes the end of an era. My instructor had it before me and his instructor before him. For the last 25 years I have been teaching taekwondo in the basement of a bowling alley and today I was told by the owner that the bowling alley will be closing. They owe the banks too much money and can't afford to stay in business barring a miracle. This means we will no longer have access to the facility. I have to admit that I've been thinking for a long time that this day could eventually come but even knowing it, you can never be prepared. This Tuesday will be the final class at West Lanes Taekwondo.

FEAR NOT...Taekwondo America isn't going anywhere!! We are as strong as we have ever been with the best students and the best team of instructors that anyone could ask for. All classes will be held at our 6813 Grover Street facility (including Sunday sparring) except Tuesday evenings (we must let the Judo classes continue training). As other events come up, we'll adapt as we always do.

It is said that everything happens for a reason. I hope that reason doesn't take too long to reveal itself. Good bye old friend!!!
